How-to: Great Gatsby Inspired Hair

1920s and 1930s style is heavily influencing current fashion. Celebrity stylist Sherri Jessee shares her North American Hairstyling Awards NAHA nominated collection with entitled, The New Gatsby. Right on trend, the 9-image anthology was influenced by the much anticipated release of Baz Luhrmann’s 3-D movie inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book. The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan opened in theaters this weekend.
The dynamic collection features blunt bobs, strong fringes, soft curls, and retro inspired finger waves accompanied by elaborate designer duds and opulent backgrounds.

To get the look:
1. For perfect color, retouch the regrowth with 10N Pravana ChromaSilk Creme Color and 30 volume developer.
2. Distribute evenly an egg sized amount of a volumizing foam and blow dry. Wrap the hair on a double barreled iron to create soft waves. Pin each curl and allow to cool.
3. To create a heavy bang, clip on matching human hair fringe and cut bluntly to the desired length.
4. Gently separate the curls with a wide toothed comb and spray to hold the shape.
