Kate Moss, the New Face of Mango: Get the Look with MAC Cosmetics

Remember when the world was all atwitter from Kate Moss bursting on the scene looking little more than a bag of bones in couture? The term “waif” was put into heavy rotation when Kate began to model for all the top designers. Years later, Kate is still modeling and looking less “waify”.
Kate is the new face of MANGO proving she’s still got the ability to book prestigious jobs. You go girl!
The talented Sherri Jessee(www.sherrijessee.com) detailed Kate’s look here:

Tradition vs. Trend: A Juxtaposition of Old and New

Recently had the honor to make another journey to India. While there, my colleague, Maggie O'Rourke, and I were very busy. We took part in a media event launching RUSK products at Headmasters Salon and Spa in Chandigarh, an exclusive photo shoot in New Delhi, and held trainings for the Indian Design Team. As an added bonus, we also had the privilege of attending an Indian wedding and were guests in a opulent home for a wonderful dinner.
Here I am on set at an exclusive photo shoot with Pammy Kaul,  the awesome Education Director for Headstart, Internaitonal. A flash of RUSK Scream color in Magenta is adorns a traditional Indian Bride.

Pictured with Maggie and me is a snapshot of the Indian Design Team: Ingrid, Rahul, and Afreen taken during one of our training days.
I had many interviews with various media including TV, news papers, and magazines.
India is a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and smells.  My third trip to this amazing country, I am forever impressed with the contradiction of OLD and NEW. Filled with lovely people that are so kind and hospitable, centuries of tradition boldly contrast new trends. Take a peek at some of my photos from the adventure to see a glimpse of the juxtaposition of ancient and modern.

Old: Barbers can frequently be found taking up shop along the roadside.
New: Occupying over 15,000 square feet and employing excess of 150, Headmasters is the largest salon in South Asia. This beautiful four story full service salon and spa is setting the trend for the rest of the country offering RUSK products to their exclusive clientele.
OLD and NEW: henna tattoos adorn the hands of the sister of a bride as she grasps tightly to her mobile phone. Mobile phones are affordable method of telecommunication available widely to both the elite and the masses.
OLD and NEW: Trucks filled with goods zoom by cows on the National Highway. Cattle is considered sacred in many religions.
OLD: traditional Indian Fast Food sold at a road side market.

NEW: McDonald's anyone. Adapting to the market, no beef is on the menu but you can get an awesome veggie burger or a spicy paneer wrap.
OLD and NEW: New bridges and roads contrast tuk-tuk transportation and spiritual statues.

OLD: Oranges can be found at numerous roadside stands to be purchased whole or juiced on site.

NEW: Fancy truffles fill the case of a candy shop at our beautiful hotel.
OLD and NEW making headlines: RUSK Being Sexy hairspray was used to create the necessary hold for the funky up-style created by Pammy Kaul worn with a designer Indian bridal dress.

Dirty Hair Help

Do you have a dirty little hair secret? If you skip washes a few times a week, don’t hide your questionable locks under the same old hat. No one will notice that your roots are getting a little greasy with these super-easy styling tips for sprucing up hair between shampoos!
HIDE OILY HAIR: There are so many great dry shampoos available. Ojon’s Full Detox™ Dry Cleansing Spray ($24) is my favorite as it helps dry up excess oil and leaves the hair with a great, fresh fragrance. A good alternative would be to use a fragranced body powder. Dab the powder in with a puff or a large powder brush, comb through, and fluff with a blow dryer. This will absorb the excess oils and simultaneously mask odor. Cornstarch or baking soda can also be used.
DISTRACT WITH A HAIR ACCESSORY: Second-day hair is easy to conceal when you sweep it back into a ponytail. The placement of your pony will determine its personality. A romantic feel is created when loosely twisted to the side, secured and accented with an antique (or antique-looking!) brooch, pin or clip.
DO A LOW PONY: Pull your hair back so that the ponytail is level with your ears, and secure with a wide barrette for a classic look.
…OR A HIGH PONY!: For a playful style, sweep hair all the way up into a high pony, and secure. For more polish, take a small section and wrap around to conceal the elastic. To get the sleekest ponytail, be sure to use an Angelo David smoothing brush (Large Paddle Brush, $65). The boar bristles will help distribute the natural oils while the nylon bristles boost your control. A nice misting of Sherri Jessee’s Shaping Spray ($16) will add touchable hold and a lovely fragrance.

As seen in Tyra Banks Website: Best Foundation

If you want the ethereal glow that only luxe foundations can give, Sherri Jessee, professional makeup artist, gives tips to get you there. She lists her favorite liquid foundation, two compact foundations and an airbrush system to get you looking like a glamazon. You can now live without the fear that your foundation will smudge or fade away before the party's over.

Smashbox High Definition FX Foundation

Smashbox High Definition FX Foundation SPF 15 is Jessee's favorite light-reflecting liquid foundation and is easy to use, she says. "For best results, prime the skin with photo-finish foundation primer and use foundation brush No. 13 to build coverage where needed," Jessee says. Available in 13 shades that can be blended to suit honeys of all color, this lightweight and oil-free foundation was the Best of Sephora Award Nominee for Best Foundation.

MAC Mineralize Foundation

MAC Mineralize Foundation is a "rich, creamy compact foundation, which provides buildable coverage and is lightweight and silky to the touch. So easy to apply with a No. 130 Short Duo Fibre Brush by MAC," says Jessee. This loose powder foundation is lightweight and uses the power of minerals to stay long-lasting, even as you dance through the night. The blend of moisturizers help create a smooth, luxe look that gives the illusion you were born blessed with flawless skin.

L'Oreal True Match Blendable

L'Oreal True Match Blendable Foundation "goes on like a liquid but with the convenience of a compact for a flawless, natural coverage," Jessee notes. As the name says, True Match is easily blendable for a flawless, air-brushed look. With 24 colors to chose from, you're sure to find the perfect shade for you. If not, you can always create a 100-percent match by blending different shades. Made in Paris, this beauty-on-a-budget buy contains micro-fine optical pearls to hide imperfections, moisturizing glycerin, and vitamins B and E to nourish your skin and make it shine.

Temptu Air pod Foundation

Available in five colors, the Temptu Air pod Foundation is designed for professional-quality airbrush results for people who aren't professionals. The Temptu Airbrush Makeup System provides precise makeup application and is mess proof. That means that fine lines, wrinkles, dark pigmentation and blemishes are blasted away, while moisturizers help hydrate the skin. The result is truly perfected skin. "For the longest lasting best coverage, go to Temptu airbrush system for buildable, breathable coverage," says Jessee.

The Best Bangs

Celebrity Hairstylist Sherri Jessee Shows Us How To Wear Bangs and Look Fabulous!

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on January 4th, 2012
Bangs can completely change the proportion of your face. A perfectly planned fringe has the power to take you from blah to beautiful.  Bangs A.K.A. Fringe can completely change the look of a hair cut. Sick of the same ol’ style?  Longing for a change but don’t want to lose your length?  Go to your professional stylist for a “cutting consultation” and find what type of fringe will get you the most bang for your buck.
 1. Dramatic Blunt Bangs are perfect for longer face shapes as they help balance the proportion.  As an added bonus, they also are a great way to accentuate your eyes because the solid line draws attention directly to them!  Just look how these blunt bangs draw your attention directly toward Taylor’s dramatic eyes.
 2. Asymmetrical Fringe can soften a square shaped face.  This is a second example of the transforming power of bangs. To see this for yourself, draw a square on a piece of paper. Next, draw a diagonal line across the center of it to form two triangles… this is exactly what an asymmetrical fringe will do for a square face cutting it in half and softening the shape.  Diana Argon looks soft and sexy with her soft fringe.

3. Textured Bangs are a great option can spice up an edgy shape to make more it feminine.  Your stylist can cut in jagged lines with lots of movement with a razor, texturizing scissors or with precise point cutting.  Addiing pizzaz to a pixie, Renee Zelweger looks super cute sporting textured bangs.
4. Side Swept Bangs are the most versatile and look great on all face shapes and with all textures of hair. Bangs swept to the side are soft and romantic and a wonderful way to add interest to longer hair. Fringe softly swept to the side softens Cameron Diaz’s square face and draws attention to her baby blues.
On a side note, once you get your bangs, most stylists will trim up fringe complimentary between haircuts to keep them in perfect position. Just give a call in advance to confirm availability.
